Anthropology

"Anthropology researches biological and cultural similarities and differences of human societies which lived and living in time and space throuhout history. It tries to produce reliable information about everything that human become similar or different from each other. Anthropology has quite large and extensive fields of interest and these fields include all human societies have lived throughout history and living today. Anthropology evaluate human with a holistic approach. According to anthropology, human is not a only biological being or a only cultural phenomenon. This approach differs anthropology from other science the subject of people, as sociology, psychology, geography, history etc. In Turkey, department of Anthropology consist of four year education and graduates is title anthropolog. As a result of four-year students get a background about many anthropological fields particularly as biological, social/cultural anthropology. In master’s and doctoral programs, students focuse the various sub-disciplines of anthropology. Department of Anthropology was established 06.09.2010 in the body of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences with social anthropology discipline. This department is completion phase. The primary purpose of this department is start to education as soon as possible.
