Transfer Applications

Undergraduate transfers are administered by Student Affairs Office. Student Affairs Office announces the application dates and requirements every academic year. 

Applications

Applications to departments admitting students will be made through the Student Information System between 31 August - 04 September 2020.

Undergraduate Transfer Application Requirements for students from abroad 

  1. The students must have taken and passed all the courses until the semester when s/he transfers to other higher institution.
  2. The general point of average of the students must be at least 3 out 4.
  3. The students who wish to transfer to departments with a compulsory preparatory class must take the foreign language preparatory exemption exam.
  4. The higher education institution abroad and the program in which the education is conducted must be recognized by the Council of Higher Education as an institution authorized to issue diplomas at associate degree or undergraduate level and the equivalence of the desired diploma program must be accepted by the relevant administrative board.
  5. The number of students, who can transfer to each class of the relevant programme of the higher education institution in our country from one of the universities abroad, including TRNC, in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide, must be determined as not exceeding 10 percent of the international transfer quota of the relevant class of that programme.
  6. In transfer from higher education institutions abroad, if the student has the minimum score in admission to the relevant class of the diploma program in the higher education institution where s/he wishes to transfer, s/he can apply for transfer without any success requirement from all the courses s/he has studied abroad. In this way, the applications of the students who apply for transfer are evaluated outside the scope of the international transfer quota.
  7. Placement for foreign quotas is done by using the following formula, according to the order of preference, from upper to lower within the number of quotas. If the obtained score is equal, priority is given to the one with higher ÖSYS base score. Again, if equality is in question, those who have higher success in the common courses of the program to be transferred are placed.

Required Documents for Application

  1. Student certificate (e-government documents are valid)
  2. Application Petition to transfer (addressed to the relevant unit)
  3. Transcript
  4. Course contents
  5. ÖSYS exam result document
  6. If available, a document showing s/he has been successful in foreign language preparatory class and success grade
  7. A document showing that disciplinary action was taken than the warning
  8. A document proving that they are recognized by The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for the universities abroad that are not included in the ÖSYS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide
  9. For the candidates who are dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces, the Police Academy and affiliated higher education institutions, the document showing that they have not been dismissed due to the acts listed in the 10th article of the Higher Education Institutions Student Discipline Regulation, failure or indiscipline and that it has not exceeded two years from the date of their dismission.

Evaluation of the applications

  1. The evaluations regarding the applications will be made between 07 - 08 September 2020 by the commissions established by the board of the relevant faculty / school and the vocational schools by take the following formula into account according to the order of preference, from upper to lower within the number of quotas.

    X: The student’s placement score
    Y: The score of the programme, to which the student wishes to transfer, in the year when the student was enrolled at the university
    DEP: The score based on evaluation
    GNO: GPA

    If there are enough candidates who meet the success requirement, substitute candidates will be announced as many as the quota.
    If the main candidates do not register within the specified period, the substitute candidates are called respectively.

  2. In the conversion of 100 grading system into the 4.00 grading system, the equivalents determined by the universities of the students are used. Otherwise, the conversion table of YÖK will be taken into consideration.

Announcement of the results

The list of those who are eligible for registration will be announced on 14 September 2020, on the website of our university, and the list of substitute candidates who are eligible for registration will be announced on the relevant unit's website.

In addition, the decision about themselves is notified in writing by the relevant unit to those who are entitled to transfer.
