"Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Divinity was established 25. 02. 1993. There are three departments in the Faculty of Divinity: Basic Islamic Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Sciences, and Islamic History and Arts. There are eight departments in the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences: Kalam, at-Tafsiir, al-Hadith, Islamic Law, History of Sufism, History of Islamic Sects, Recitation of Qur'an and Qur'anic Studies, Arabic Language and Eloquence. Graduated students can continue their education (Master and Phd) in this department. The Department of Basic Islamic Sciences accepts national and foreign students within the framework of Erasmus and Mevlana programs. The Department of Basic Islamic Sciences aims to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge as well as basic skills in practice, and acquire comprehensive theoretical and practical content knowledge in the field. By using scientific research methods and techniques, students gain the opportunity to learn the basic subjects and to interpret and evaluate the cultural heritage in Basic Islamic Sciences. The program target to to use scientific research methods and techniques for students equipped with accurate knowledge and to develop the ability to perceive, question, interpret and solve various problems encountered in the religious life of the society. The program aims to raise people who can questioning, analytical thinking, historical and cultural background. Thus, the students overcome the encountered problems. "
