"The Department was founded in 2005. By its first students in 2005-2006 undergraduate teaching started. The aim of the department is to raise awareness for the need for philosophical knowledge in both shaping the individual and social life, and conducting research in various fields of knowledge and therefore to enable philosophy, as a scientific field, to contribute greatly to development of societies. The department of philosophy currently has a master's program and 4 departments. These departments are Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy, Turkish-Islamic Thought History and Systematic Philosophy and Logic."
