Department of Sociology was established in the year 1993 and began to accept students in 1994-1995 academic year. Department provides evening classes as well as ordinary program for bachelors degree to approximately 100 students each year. Academic staff consist of 5 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 6 research assistants and an expert. Students could benefit from the university library and libraries in the city during their academic studies. They could also participate in various social activities organized in the campus.
